Receiver Tutorial 3

Now with the grip properly fitted we will fit the section on the front right
side. The front of the receiver should be squarely butted up to the top plate
of the jig and the rest of the parts butted up to each other.
Before fitting the rear section the front section should be tight and
square to the top plate of the jig and the rest of the parts butted together.
This is important as we will be setting the interior length for the feed cover
to fit properly.
Cut and square the rear section until it butts up to the jig top plate.
Then check the fit of the buffer latch. If all the parts fit properly the receiver
is ready to do the semi mods. We will do these before welding the sections
together to comply with the BATF requirements and it will also be easier.
This section has the ejector plate installed on it we will work from the
rear and cut and fit it so the ejector plate fits properly. Once this is fitted we
can fit the rear section.
Before starting on the receiver semi mods we will grind off the  FA sear
on the bottom of the bolt. This will allow us to use the bolt as a gage to
make sure the bolt will fit in the modified section before we weld it up. The
top bolt is the full auto and the bottom is a semi auto with the FA sear
removed.
