Effective October 20, 2026. This policy explains what personal information ProjectGuns collects through projectguns.com, why, how long we keep it, who processes it for us, and the choices and rights you have.
Who is responsible
ProjectGuns ("we", "us") is operated by Niche Solutions, LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, which runs projectguns.com and is responsible for the personal information described here. Our Privacy Officer is accountable for this policy and handles every privacy request: write to contact@projectguns.com with "Privacy" in the subject line.
The short version
We run an educational website. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for advertising, we do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and ordinary visitors do not need to give us any personal information to read the site.
Information we collect
When you read the site. Our servers automatically record technical details of each request: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. We use them to deliver pages, keep the site secure (for example to stop abusive traffic) and fix problems. Server logs are deleted after 14 days.
When you search. If a search finds nothing, we keep the search words and the date so we know what to write next. We do not link searches to IP addresses or people.
When you email us. If you write to contact@projectguns.com, we receive your email address, name if you include it, and your message. We use them only to answer you and to keep a record of corrections and requests.
Staff accounts. People who write and edit the site have accounts with a name, email address, a protected password, two-factor sign-in, and sign-in records (IP address and browser) kept for security.
Reader accounts and comments are not available yet. We will update this policy before they are.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and we do not use personal information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on anyone.
Categories and purposes (for US state privacy laws)
In the last 12 months we have collected: identifiers (IP address; email address if you write to us) and internet activity (pages requested, browser and device type). Purposes: operating and securing the website, responding to messages, and improving our content. Sources: you and your browser. We disclose this information only to the service providers listed below, for those purposes. We have not sold or shared personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not do so.
Cookies and similar technologies
Visitors reading the site receive no cookies from ProjectGuns. Signed-in staff receive cookies that are strictly necessary to keep them signed in securely. Our security and delivery provider, Cloudflare, may set a strictly necessary cookie to tell people apart from automated traffic. See our cookie policy for details.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Because we do not track visitors across websites or sell or share personal information, there is nothing for these signals to switch off; we treat any visitor sending them exactly as we treat everyone else, without tracking.
Who processes information for us
- DigitalOcean hosts the website and its database in the United States.
- Cloudflare provides security, content delivery and email forwarding for contact@projectguns.com.
- Our email provider stores the messages you send us.
They may use the information only to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety, or as part of a transfer of the website to a new owner, who would be bound by this policy.
International transfers
Our servers are in the United States. If you visit from Canada or elsewhere, your information is processed in the United States, where the law may allow access by courts and authorities under conditions that differ from your country's.
How long we keep information
Server logs: 14 days. Searches with no results: as long as they are useful for planning content (they contain no personal information). Messages to us: up to three years, or longer if needed to keep a record of a correction or legal request. Staff accounts: while the person works on the site and up to one year afterwards.
How we protect it
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), two-factor sign-in for staff, encryption of stored secrets, restricted server access, firewalls and encrypted offsite backups. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected people and authorities of a breach where the law requires.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to give you a copy, to correct it, or to delete it, and you may withdraw any consent you gave us. Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws, and of Canada and Quebec, have these rights by law. To make a request, write to contact@projectguns.com with "Privacy" in the subject. We may ask for information to confirm your identity, and you may use an authorized agent. We answer within 30 days (45 days where state law allows) and never treat you differently for exercising your rights.
Appeals. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our answer with "Appeal" in the subject; we will respond within 45 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact your state attorney general, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
Children
ProjectGuns is a general audience educational site. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We will post any change on this page with a new effective date, and describe important changes at the top of the page.
